United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery (UNVFCFS) 

The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery has opened a call for proposals to establish channels of assistance, including humanitarian, legal, and financial aid, for individuals whose human rights have been severely violated as a result of contemporary forms of slavery. They welcome civil society organisations to submit proposals for their fund. 

Who can apply: 

  • Only applications by civil society organisations and other channels of assistance (for example, hospitals and professional associations) (hereafter organisations) are admissible. Applications by governmental, parliamentary or administrative entities, political parties or national liberation movements are inadmissible

Activities

  • Grants may only be awarded to organisations for projects that provide direct assistance to victims of contemporary forms of slavery and their family members. Such assistance may be in the form of medical, psychological, legal, social, humanitarian, educational assistance, vocational or skills training or other support to their independent livelihood 

Budget: organisations can request yearly grants from US$ 15,000 to US$ 35,000.

Deadline: 1 March 2024.

  • Applications from all regions will be accepted 
  • All applications should be submitted in English, French or Spanish
  • Only applications that strictly comply with the Guidelines of the Fund will be considered
  • Grants requested from the Fund can cover a period of up to 12 months during the calendar year 1st January to 31st December, following the year of application
