Each year, Victim Support Europe organises its Annual Autumn Conference that provides a unique opportunity to address the most active issues related to victims of crime in the EU.

The Conference is a major international event bringing together the key players working with victims of crime. Between 200 and 250 participants from victim support organisations as well as practitioners, researchers, experts, academics, government officials and criminal Justice officials attend annually.

Protecting Fundamental Freedoms, A Victims’ Perspective

Victim Support Europe and Weisser Ring Germany are delighted to welcome you to the Victim Support Europe 2023 Annual Conference – ‘Protecting Fundamental Freedoms, a victim’s perspective’.

VSE’s Annual Conference will take place at the H4 Conference Center in Berlin, between 7-9 June, 2023 as a hybrid event; we hope to welcome participants from around the world, both in-person and online.

This is one of the global victim support community’s largest, most influential events, where victim-related challenges are given solutions, where tomorrow’s support practices are launched today, and where, together, we highlight the potential of our victim support world. This is your chance to network with frontline victim support workers, policymakers, law enforcement professionals, technology providers, academics, journalists, and civil society activists: to accelerate your service, your product, or your ideas that will benefit victims of crime.

VSE Annual Conference 2022
The Age of Resilience

Victim Support Europe and Victim Support Malta are delighted to welcome you to the Victim Support Europe 2022 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting – The Age of Resilience.

The Conference will take place at Urban Valley Resort in Kappara, which is a very central and quaint area in Malta, on the 11th and 12th of May 2022, preceded by the Annual General Meeting on the 10th of May. The discussion aims at highlighting the ways to achieve resilience, individual, social, and structural, by sharing resilience strategies and approaches to contain systemic threats.

VSE Annual Autumn Conference 2021
SAFE JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS

The Conference is an international event bringing together the key players working with victims of crime. Between 100 and 150 participants from victim support organisations as well as practitioners, researchers, experts, academics, government officials and criminal justice officials attend annually.

In 2021, the event will be held physically again, on a short distance from the centre of Brussels, in stunning surroundings, on the banks of a peaceful lake in the heart of Walloon Brabant.

The theme of this year’s edition is ‘Safe Justice for Victims’ which will be the opportunity to discuss the current state of practice of criminal justice system, thereby raising awareness on safe reporting as the first step in seeking justice and addressing the question on what makes the criminal justice system safe for victims? This will be followed by an intellectual discussion on better path forward for criminal justice.

VSE Annual Conference 2020
Bridging High-Tech and Victim Support Services

This year’s edition ‘Bridging High-Tech and Victim Support Services’ unites tech companies and experts with victim support community leaders who are leveraging technology for the benefit of victims of crime.
The conference will take place online on the 19th November (10:00 – 16:00 CET).

On June 12th-13th 2019, VSE’s annual conference took place in Strasbourg, France. This year, the theme of the conference was “Victim Recovery: A Road of Many Routes”.

VSE Annual Autumn Conference 2018

VSE Annual Conference 2018: Reaching Out To Victims

The Victim Support Europe Annual Conference 2018 took place in Stockholm on the 23-24th of May 2018.

This year’s Conference was formally opened by H.M Queen Silvia.
The theme of that year’s event was Reaching Out To Victims. The Conference intended to explore what obstacles and barriers victims face in knowing about and accessing services and rights, how we can overcome these barriers including how organisations and individuals directly reach out to victims.

On Friday 8 December 2017 in partnership with European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), VSE organised its Autumn Conference 2017 “Supporting Victims of Cybercrime”.

VSE Annual Conference 2017, Dublin

The VSE’s Annual Conference 2017 ‘Victims of Crime: Rights, Needs & Responses’ took place on 17 and 18 May 2017 at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, Dublin, Ireland. The conference was co-hosted by Advocates for Victims of Homicide (AdVIC), the Victims’ Rights Alliance (VRA), Victims Support NI and Victim Support Europe.

VSE Annual Conference 2016: Connect and Commit

On 25 and 26 May Victim Support Europe and Slachtofferhulp Nederland organised the Annual Victim Support Europe Conference. We welcomed 225 people from all over Europe and the world in the beautiful Muntgebouw in Utrecht.

VSE Annual Conference 2015: Rights of Victims of Crime in Europe: the future is now!

Victim Support Europe’s Annual Conference 2015 “Rights of Victims of Crime in Europe: the future is now!” took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 13 to 14 May 2015. It was a very important event as we celebrated both Victim Support Europe’s and the Portuguese Association for Victim Support’s (APAV) 25th anniversary.
