Submit an Opinion Piece |  Supporting Victims of Hate Crimes

VSE accepts opinion essays on the topic of hate crimes for our ‘One Voice One Cause’ campaign publications dedicated to the European Day for Victims of Hate Crimes (22 July).

Published pieces typically run from 500 to 1,200 words, but drafts of any length within the bounds of reason will be considered.

The following questions can guide you in writing the piece:

  1. How does your organisation deal with victims of hate crimes: racist hate crimes, religious hate crimes, LGBTI+ hate crimes?
  2. What are the gaps/barriers in your national context to provide quality support to victims of hate crimes?
  3. What are your recommendations to national authorities and other stakeholders to improve the situation?
  4. If you can provide a testimony of a victim of hate crime/incident/speech, please, share it in your article.

Submissions may be sent to m.kazakova@vicitmsupporteurope.eu
Please, provide the text in a Word format + photos/illustrations to your text (send images in the attachment).

Deadline for submissions: 15 July 2020
