NATAL developed tools to support Ukrainian mental health professionals
Dear members,
The Israeli organisation NATAL – Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center – has developed several tools to assist the people affected by the war in Ukraine. Some of the tools were translated and adapted with the help of La Strada Ukraine and the Ukrainian Association for Health Psychology.
Please find below the list of available tools:
- A booklet Deal with the consequences of stress caused by rocket shooting, war and terrorist action, has been written by Dr. Alexander Ostrobrod in Ukrainian and Russian. The booklet is based on NATAL’s knowledge in providing help to trauma victims in times of war. It is written in a general language and can be relevant for the general population and mental health professionals.

- The CAN COPE brochure is developed to assist parents in coping and normalising, as well as to cope with their children’s stress (with La Strada’s logo and contact details).
- Supporting Your Children in Times of Stress is another document targeted at the parents themselves.
- A video showcasing tools on how to deal with traumatic events, based on the Six Cs model that developed by the Israeli scholar Dr. Moshe Farchi. This video was produced by the Israeli Ministry of Health and has been translated with the help of Ukraine’s Institute of Health Psychology.
