Dear VSE Members

VSE has responded to the roadmap of this public consultation launched by the European Commission ‘Violence against women and domestic violence – fitness check of EU legislation’.

This initiative will launch a fitness check (evaluation) to assess what more can be done on this issue. It will:

• assess whether current EU legislation has helped prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence, and whether there are gaps in the legislation
• analyse whether EU measures are consistent with sources of international law
• analyse whether greater protection is needed against this form of discrimination.
